Department Fall Retreat

Sign up for the departmental retreat is now open!  Here are all the signup details: 

1.) SIGN UP FORM (Deadline: Monday, August 15th): Please check out the link in the email to register!  To help gauge the need for safe capacity and childcare facilities, we encourage you to sign-up ASAP if you plan on bringing your spouse, common-law partner, or children. This form also details free travel to and from the resort!  

2.) POSTER ABSTRACT SUBMISSION (Deadline: Monday, August 15th): As is departmental tradition, a poster session and competition (with prize money!) will be held during the retreat. If you would like to be a part of this, please email us with your name and a one-page abstract (12pt Arial, 1.87 cm margins, single space .doc format) with the subject line "Poster Abstract Submission".  

3.) TIKTOK & SPOOF VIDEOS (Deadline: Friday, August 5th): In years past, grad students have gotten together to put together parody videos and music videos to be watched during the retreat. This year, to be the trendy department that we are, we will also be including TikTok-format videos! We're looking for all kinds of creativity! That includes aspiring videographers, film directors, actors/actresses, and scriptwriters -everyone is welcome! Absolutely no experience is necessary. If you'd like to create gems just like these, please fill out the form in the email.  

To get everyone pumped for the much-anticipated retreat, we are very excited to introduce our two keynote speakers this year! We are honoured to have Dr. Keke Fairfax from the University of Utah and Dr. Janet Markle from Vanderbilt University Medical Center join us at the retreat.
